Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

The location of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

The debut trailers mention Mexico, but it's unlikely that everything will be limited to one region. Viewers were shown a ship on which courier Sam Bridges, the protagonist of both parts, travels the world with his crew, joining the chiral network of settlements far beyond America. This is hinted at by the ship's name, Magellan, which refers to the first navigator to circumnavigate the globe.

It seems that the ship will be able to teleport to different points in the material world, passing through the Shore or the Stitch - the dimensions between life and death.

Sam has united America with the chiral network, eliminating the need for human couriers, as bots have replaced them. However, the rest of the world remains divided, and the threat of Death Stranding to humanity remains. While the original game's main theme was the importance of human connections, the sequel begs the question, “Should we have joined together?”.

The girl Lou, who played a key role in the plot of the first installment, survived, and now she and Sam live a peaceful life. But their tranquility is disturbed by an armed group invading the safe house.

In Death Stranding 2, Sam joins the Drawbridge organization, which is run by his girlfriend Frajayle. This organization aims to connect the rest of the world to the chiral network. Drawbridge has a generous patron, whose identity Frajayle keeps secret, admitting that she has never met him. She also doesn't know who created the ship the team is traveling on.

The antagonist of the first installment, Higgs (Troy Baker), will also return to the game. Somehow he managed to survive and now seeks revenge on Sam and Frajayle.
